Question 1

Does the electric Forfour pay IUC?

Accepted Answer

No. As a fully electric car, the Forfour EQ or electric drive is exempt from IUC and pays no ISV on registration in Portugal. Its range is modest, so it works best as a city or second car.

Question 2

How is the electric Forfour charged?

Accepted Answer

It charges on alternating current only, from a domestic socket, a wallbox or a public Mobi.E point; there is no DC fast charging. Some cars have a faster optional on-board charger, so check which one is fitted.

Question 3

What is the difference between the Forfour and the Fortwo?

Accepted Answer

The Fortwo is a two-seater, while the Forfour has four seats and five doors on a longer body. The later models share engines and many parts.

Question 4

Which gearbox does a petrol Forfour have?

Accepted Answer

The later petrol Forfour came with either a manual gearbox or the twinamic dual-clutch automatic. On a test drive, the automatic should engage smoothly at low speed.
