Question 1

Is there a diesel Skoda Fabia?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but only in older generations: the TDI diesel was dropped during the third generation. The current Fabia, launched in 2021, is sold with petrol engines only.

Question 2

Is the Fabia Combi still made?

Accepted Answer

No. The estate was offered in the first three generations, and the fourth-generation Fabia is a hatchback only. A used Combi still offers a large boot for its size.

Question 3

How much IUC does a Fabia pay?

Accepted Answer

For a car registered from July 2007, the IUC depends on cylinder capacity and CO2 emissions, so the Fabia's small petrol engines sit in the lower bands. Cars registered before then are taxed on engine size and age instead.

Question 4

What should I check on an imported Fabia?

Accepted Answer

A car brought in from another EU country pays ISV before Portuguese registration, so check whether that has been done. A Fabia already on Portuguese plates has it settled and is recorded at the Registo Automóvel.
