Question 1

What is the difference between the Scénic and the Grand Scénic?

Accepted Answer

The Grand Scénic is longer and offers seven seats, two of them folding into the boot floor, while the Scénic has five seats and a shorter body. On longer journeys the third row suits children better than adults.

Question 2

What should I check on an older Scénic?

Accepted Answer

Make sure the keycard is recognised every time and that the electronic parking brake engages and releases cleanly, both common repairs on these generations. On the 2016 model, find out what a set of the 20-inch tyres it wears as standard costs.

Question 3

Is the new Scenic still an MPV?

Accepted Answer

No. The Scenic E-Tech launched in 2024 is a fully electric crossover with a higher driving position, and it was named European Car of the Year 2024. It shares little beyond the name with the earlier Scénic.

Question 4

How is an electric Scenic taxed in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Fully electric cars pay no IUC, and an imported one pays no ISV when it is registered. Ask for a battery health report and check that the charging cable comes with the car.
