Question 1

Is a former rental Peugeot worth buying?

Accepted Answer

It can be, if the service record is complete and the price reflects the mileage and the number of drivers. Holiday rentals often do short runs with heavy luggage, so look closely at the clutch, the tyres, the interior and the edges of the bodywork.

Question 2

What should I check on a Peugeot 207 CC or 308 CC folding roof?

Accepted Answer

Open and close the roof several times: it should move smoothly and lock fully without a warning on the dashboard. Look for damp under the boot floor and in the carpets, as worn seals or blocked drains let rain in, and repairs to the roof mechanism can be costly.

Question 3

Is an electric Peugeot e-208 or e-2008 practical in the Algarve?

Accepted Answer

For trips between Faro, Loulé and Albufeira the range of an e-208 or e-2008 is ample, and the region has public charging points on the Mobi.E network. Fully electric cars pay neither ISV nor IUC; check the battery's state of health and how much of its warranty remains.

Question 4

Does sea air affect a used Peugeot?

Accepted Answer

Cars kept close to the coast are more exposed to salt, which attacks brake discs, the exhaust and the underbody. Sun also fades paint and hardens rubber seals, so a look underneath and along the window seals is worthwhile on a car that has lived by the sea.
