Question 1

How do I know a used Peugeot is battery-electric and not a hybrid?

Accepted Answer

The 308 and 3008 are also sold as plug-in hybrids, and most models come with combustion engines too. The e- prefix in the model name and the fuel type on the registration certificate confirm a battery-electric car.

Question 2

Why does the onboard charger matter on a Peugeot e-208 or e-2008?

Accepted Answer

It decides how fast the car charges from a wallbox or an AC public point, and some versions had a faster three-phase charger as an option. Ask which one the car has before counting on a home charging routine.

Question 3

What should I check on a used Peugeot e-Rifter or e-Partner van?

Accepted Answer

A van that worked for a business may have done many short trips and frequent fast charges, so ask for a battery state-of-health report. Check, too, that its real range covers your daily round with a load on board, since weight shortens it.

Question 4

Do electric Peugeots pay IUC or ISV in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

No. Battery-electric cars are exempt from IUC and, when imported, from ISV, whereas the petrol, diesel and hybrid versions of the same models pay them. Charging on the road uses the Mobi.E public network.
