Question 1

What is the difference between the old and new Peugeot 5008?

Accepted Answer

The first generation is a tall compact MPV, while the model launched in 2017 is an SUV with a more upright stance and Peugeot's i-Cockpit. Both were offered with seven seats.

Question 2

How usable is the Peugeot 5008's third row?

Accepted Answer

The two rearmost seats fold flat into the boot floor and suit children, or adults on short trips. With all seven seats up there is little room for luggage, so check that every seat is present and that the folding mechanisms work.

Question 3

What should I check on a Peugeot 5008 with the 1.2 PureTech?

Accepted Answer

The timing belt on this engine runs in oil and can wear early. Ask for proof of inspection or replacement and of regular oil changes with the specified oil; an oil pressure warning is a reason to have the belt examined.

Question 4

Petrol or diesel for a Peugeot 5008 in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

The BlueHDi diesels suit drivers who cover long distances with a full car, while the petrol versions are simpler for shorter, mostly urban use. The IUC depends on engine size and CO2, and an imported example also pays ISV before it is registered.
