Question 1

What changed between the Peugeot 3008 generations?

Accepted Answer

The first, sold until 2016, is a raised, MPV-like car. The second, built from 2016 to 2023, is a proper SUV with the i-Cockpit, and the third, launched in 2024, adds the fully electric e-3008.

Question 2

Does the Peugeot 3008 have four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

Only the Hybrid4 plug-in hybrid, which adds an electric motor on the rear axle. Other versions drive the front wheels, some with Grip Control and hill descent assist for unpaved tracks.

Question 3

What should I check on a plug-in hybrid Peugeot 3008?

Accepted Answer

Ask how the car was charged and whether the charging cable comes with it, and try the electric-only mode to confirm the battery still holds a useful charge. A warning on the hybrid system should be diagnosed before you buy, not after.

Question 4

Which Peugeot 3008 engines need extra care?

Accepted Answer

The 1.2 PureTech petrol of the second generation has a timing belt that runs in oil and needs inspecting. BlueHDi diesels are frugal on long runs but use AdBlue, so rule out faults in that system.
