How does the 2024 Peugeot 2008 Hybrid work?

It is a 48V mild hybrid: an electric motor built into the dual-clutch gearbox assists the 1.2 petrol and allows electric driving at low speed. It does not plug in and drives like a petrol automatic.

Does the 2024 Peugeot 2008 still have the oil-bathed timing belt?

The hybrid's 1.2 switched to a timing chain, but the non-electrified PureTech kept the belt. Check in the advert which engine the car has.

Which 2024 Peugeot 2008 should I choose?

For mostly town driving, the 48V hybrid uses less fuel than the plain PureTech and comes with an automatic gearbox. If you can charge at home, the e-2008 has the lowest cost per kilometre and pays no IUC.
