Does the Opel Mokka 1.2 Turbo engine have problems?

The second generation's 1.2 Turbo has a timing belt running in oil, which can degrade and shed debris into the lubrication system. Check whether the belt has been inspected or replaced and that the specified oil was used.

Which is the best petrol engine in the first Opel Mokka?

The 1.4 Turbo is the best balanced, with good response and the option of an automatic or four-wheel drive. The non-turbo 1.6 is simple but thirstier and slower.

Is a petrol Opel Mokka better than a diesel?

For low mileage or mostly town driving, yes: the petrol is cheaper to run and avoids particulate filter trouble. The diesel only pays off over long distances on open roads.
