Does the Opel Crossland X 1.2 Turbo engine have problems?

The PSA-sourced 1.2 Turbo uses an oil-bathed timing belt that can degrade early and shed debris into the engine. Ask for proof of a belt replacement or recent inspection, and be wary of oil consumption.

What is the difference between the Opel Crossland X and the Crossland?

They are the same model: the 2020 facelift dropped the X from the name and added Opel's Vizor front end. Mechanically it kept the 1.2 petrol and 1.5 diesel engines.

Opel Crossland X manual: petrol or diesel?

For mostly urban use, the 1.2 petrol is cheaper to buy and to run. The 1.5 diesel pays off for high motorway mileages, as long as journeys let the particulate filter regenerate.
