Question 1

Which new Volkswagen diesel cars are on sale in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

The 2.0 TDI powers the Golf and Golf Variant with 116 or 150 hp, the Passat with 122 or 150 hp, the Tiguan with 150 or 193 hp, and the Tayron. Only the 116 hp Golf TDI keeps a manual gearbox; the other versions are DSG.

Question 2

Is a new Volkswagen diesel still worth buying?

Accepted Answer

It pays off mainly for drivers who cover a lot of motorway miles, where the TDI is frugal and has a long range. For mostly urban driving, a petrol eTSI or an eHybrid plug-in usually makes more sense.

Question 3

How much ISV and IUC does a new Volkswagen diesel pay?

Accepted Answer

A new Volkswagen TDI pays ISV at first registration and IUC every year, both based on engine size and CO2 emissions. Diesel cars also pay an additional IUC charge that petrol cars do not.

Question 4

Which new Volkswagen diesel has all-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

The 193 hp Tiguan 2.0 TDI is sold with 4Motion all-wheel drive and a DSG gearbox, in Style trim. The other TDI versions of the Golf, Passat and Tiguan are front-wheel drive.
