Question 1

Which new Renault models are sold in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Renault sells the Twingo, Renault 5, Renault 4, Clio, Captur, Symbioz, Austral, Rafale, Espace, Scenic and Megane in Portugal, plus the Kangoo and Trafic people carriers. They range from an electric city car to a seven-seat SUV.

Question 2

Which new Renault cars are electric only?

Accepted Answer

The Twingo, Renault 5, Renault 4, Megane and Scenic are sold new only as E-Tech electric cars. The Kangoo comes electric or diesel, the Trafic diesel, the Clio, Captur, Symbioz and Austral petrol or hybrid, and the Rafale and Espace as hybrids.

Question 3

Does a new Renault pay ISV and IUC?

Accepted Answer

Electric Renaults are exempt from ISV and IUC in Portugal. The rest pay ISV at first registration and IUC every year, both based on engine size and CO2 emissions, which favours the E-Tech hybrids.

Question 4

Is a new Renault worth buying?

Accepted Answer

A new Renault brings the full factory warranty, exactly the engine and trim you want, and access to recently launched models such as the new-generation electric cars. The steepest depreciation comes in the first years, so it pays off mainly for owners who keep the car a long time.
