Question 1

Which new Opel diesels are sold in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

The new Opel diesels in Portugal are the Astra, as a hatchback and a Sports Tourer, and the Combo, Vivaro and Zafira Life vans and people carriers. The vans come with manual or automatic gearboxes, while the diesel Astra is always automatic.

Question 2

Which diesel engine does the new Opel Astra have?

Accepted Answer

The new diesel Opel Astra has a 130 hp engine with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, in both the hatchback and the Sports Tourer estate. It comes in Edition and GS trims.

Question 3

Is a new Opel diesel still worth buying?

Accepted Answer

A new Opel diesel makes sense for high motorway mileage or heavy loads, as in the Combo and Vivaro vans. For mostly urban driving, Opel offers petrol, hybrid and electric alternatives across these models.

Question 4

What ISV and IUC does a new Opel diesel pay?

Accepted Answer

On a new Opel diesel, ISV uses a CO₂ table specific to diesel engines, steeper than the petrol one, and is normally included in the list price. Annual IUC adds a diesel surcharge for passenger cars, and for a van it also depends on whether it is registered for passengers or goods.
