Question 1

Which new Mini models are sold in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Mini sells the three- and five-door Cooper, the Cabrio, the Aceman and the Countryman in Portugal. The Aceman is electric only, the Cabrio petrol only, and the Countryman is the only one with a diesel engine.

Question 2

What do One, C, S, E and SE mean on a new Mini?

Accepted Answer

The letters give the powertrain: One and C are the entry petrol versions, S the more powerful one, and E and SE the electric ones. Above them sit the John Cooper Works models, the brand's performance versions.

Question 3

Can you still buy a new Mini with a manual gearbox?

Accepted Answer

No: every new Mini comes with an automatic gearbox, a dual-clutch unit on the combustion engines. The electric models are automatic by nature.

Question 4

Does a new electric Mini pay ISV and IUC in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

No: a fully electric Mini is exempt from ISV at first registration and from the annual IUC. Petrol and diesel Minis pay ISV, normally already in the list price, and an IUC based on engine size and CO2 emissions.
