Question 1

Which petrol Mercedes models are sold new in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Mercedes-Benz sells the A-Class, the C, E and S-Class, the GLC, GLE, GLS and G-Class SUVs, the CLE coupé and cabriolet, the SL, the AMG GT and the V-Class new with petrol engines. Many of these versions are Mercedes-AMG models, especially the sports cars and the larger SUVs.

Question 2

Are new petrol Mercedes all automatic?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every petrol Mercedes sold new in Portugal has an automatic gearbox. 4MATIC all-wheel drive is common on the SUVs, the G-Class and the Mercedes-AMG versions.

Question 3

What taxes does a new petrol Mercedes pay in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

A new petrol Mercedes pays ISV at its first registration and IUC every year, both rising with engine size and CO2 emissions. That is why the two taxes weigh far more on an AMG GT or a G-Class than on an A-Class.

Question 4

Is it worth buying a new petrol Mercedes?

Accepted Answer

A new petrol Mercedes comes with the full factory warranty and exactly the engine and equipment you choose, from the A-Class to the SL. In return, it loses value fastest in its first years and pays ISV and IUC, which an electric version is exempt from.
