Question 1

Which new Mercedes-Benz models are sold in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Mercedes sells the A, C, E and S-Class, the CLA and CLE, the GLA, GLB, GLC, GLE, GLS and G-Class SUVs, and the AMG GT and SL sports cars new. Alongside them come the electric EQE and EQS, also as SUVs, and the V-Class and Vito people carriers.

Question 2

What do the letters d and e mean on new Mercedes cars?

Accepted Answer

A d in the name marks a diesel engine, as in a C 220 d, and an e marks a plug-in hybrid, as in an E 300 e. EQ models are fully electric, and AMG versions are the highest-performance ones.

Question 3

Does a new Mercedes-Benz pay ISV and IUC in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Petrol and diesel Mercedes pay ISV at first registration and IUC every year, according to engine size and CO2 emissions, and diesel also pays an additional IUC charge. Plug-in hybrids that meet the conditions pay only part of the ISV, and electric models are exempt from both taxes.

Question 4

Is a new Mercedes-Benz worth buying?

Accepted Answer

A new Mercedes lets you configure the engine and equipment you want and comes with the full factory warranty. Executive and luxury models, however, are among those that lose most value in their first years, which matters if you change cars early.
