Question 1

What engines does the new Mercedes A-Class have?

Accepted Answer

The new A-Class has one petrol engine (A 200, 163 PS), two diesels (A 180 d with 116 PS and A 200 d with 150 PS) and a plug-in hybrid (A 250 e, 218 PS). Above them sit the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC, with 306 PS, and A 45 S 4MATIC+, with 421 PS.

Question 2

What is the difference between the Mercedes-AMG A 35 and A 45 S?

Accepted Answer

The A 35 4MATIC is AMG's entry hot hatch, with 306 PS and all-wheel drive. The A 45 S 4MATIC+ rises to 421 PS and is the most powerful A-Class.

Question 3

What taxes does a new Mercedes A-Class pay in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

A new A-Class pays ISV once, at its first registration in Portugal, and IUC every year, both based on engine size and CO2 emissions. The A 250 e plug-in hybrid can pay a reduced ISV if it meets the legal electric-range and emissions limits.

Question 4

Is it worth buying a new Mercedes A-Class?

Accepted Answer

Buying new brings the full factory warranty and exactly the engine and equipment you choose, from the A 180 d to the A 45 S. In return, a new car loses value fastest in its first years.
