Question 1

Which new Kia models are sold in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

Kia's new range includes the Picanto, the K4, the Stonic, XCeed, Seltos, Sportage and Sorento SUVs, the Niro and the electric EV2, EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6 and EV9, plus the PV5 electric van. There are petrol, hybrid and electric versions, but no diesel.

Question 2

What warranty does a new Kia have?

Accepted Answer

A new Kia carries the brand's seven-year factory warranty, one of the longest on the market, subject to a mileage limit. It passes to the next owner if the car is sold within that period.

Question 3

How much does a new Kia cost?

Accepted Answer

A new Kia ranges from the entry Picanto to the top EV9, depending on model, engine and trim. Portuguese list prices usually include VAT (IVA) and ISV, while registration and delivery can be extra.

Question 4

What taxes does a new Kia pay in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

A petrol or hybrid Kia pays ISV at first registration and IUC every year, on engine size and CO₂ emissions. Kia's fully electric EV models are exempt from both ISV and IUC.

Question 5

Is a new Kia worth it over one a few years old?

Accepted Answer

A new Kia gets the full seven-year warranty and the latest generation of each model, with no IPO inspection for its first four years. In exchange, a new car depreciates most in its first years.
