Which new electric BMWs can you buy in Portugal?

BMW sells the i4 Gran Coupé, the i5 saloon and Touring, the i7 luxury saloon and the iX, iX1, iX2 and iX3 SUVs in Portugal. The new iX3 is the first model on the Neue Klasse platform.

Does a new electric BMW pay ISV and IUC in Portugal?

No, a fully electric BMW is exempt from ISV on purchase and from IUC every year in Portugal. That is the main tax difference from combustion BMWs and plug-in hybrids, which pay IUC.

Is it worth buying a new electric BMW?

A new electric BMW comes with the full factory warranty plus a separate, longer warranty on the high-voltage battery. Electric cars tend to lose value quickly in their first years, so buying new suits long-term owners who can charge at home.
