Question 1

Which new BMW models can you buy in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

BMW sells the 1 Series through to the 7 Series in Portugal, the X1, X2, X3, X5, X6, X7 and XM SUVs, and the M2, M3, M4 and M5. The electric line-up includes the i4, i5, i7 and the iX family.

Question 2

How much does a new BMW cost in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

A new BMW ranges from the entry 1 Series version up to flagships such as the i7 and XM. Within each model the price rises with the engine, xDrive all-wheel drive and the body style, and every version carries its own official list price.

Question 3

Is it worth buying a new BMW rather than a nearly new one?

Accepted Answer

A new BMW comes with the full factory warranty and exactly the specification the buyer chooses. The trade-off is depreciation, which is steepest in the first years; in Portugal a new car bought from a trader also carries a three-year legal guarantee.

Question 4

Does a new electric BMW pay ISV and IUC in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

No, fully electric BMWs are exempt from both ISV and IUC in Portugal. Combustion models pay ISV once at first registration and IUC every year, both based on engine size and CO2, while plug-in hybrids can qualify for reduced ISV if they meet the electric range and emissions conditions.
