Question 1

Which engines does the new Audi A5 have?

Accepted Answer

The new Audi A5 has the 204 hp TDI, with front-wheel or quattro drive, and 299 hp and 367 hp e-hybrid quattro plug-in hybrids. All use the S tronic automatic gearbox.

Question 2

Does the new Audi A5 replace the A4?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the new A5 fills the slot the A4 once held, as a Limousine and an Avant estate. Above it sit the S5 and RS 5, sold as separate models.

Question 3

What taxes does a new Audi A5 pay in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

An A5 TDI pays ISV at first registration and the annual IUC on engine size and CO2, with the diesel surcharge on top. The A5 e-hybrid can get reduced ISV if it meets the electric range and emissions requirements.

Question 4

Is it worth buying a new Audi A5?

Accepted Answer

Buying an A5 new brings the full factory warranty and the choice between diesel and plug-in hybrid to suit your driving. Its value falls fastest in the first years, which weighs on whoever buys new.
