Which Mitsubishi diesel engine is the most reliable?

The Pajero's 3.2 DI-D and the older L200's 2.5 DI-D are known for covering high mileages when properly serviced. On the newer 2.4, the particulate filter needs regular open-road driving.

Can a diesel Mitsubishi L200 handle heavy work?

Yes, the L200 is a ladder-frame pick-up with low range on four-wheel-drive versions. Check for driveline play, the state of the load bed and signs of hard off-road use.

Do diesel Mitsubishis have particulate filter problems?

In purely urban use, yes, like most modern diesels. Regular longer runs let the filter regenerate and prevent clogging.
