Is the MG4 an automatic?

Yes, every MG4 has a single-speed automatic transmission, like most electric cars. There is no clutch or multi-gear gearbox needing maintenance.

How does one-pedal driving work in the MG4?

At the strongest regeneration setting, the MG4 slows almost to a stop when you lift off the accelerator. The levels are changed with paddles or in the menu, depending on the version.

What should I test on a used MG4 automatic?

Try every regeneration level and the rotary drive selector. Listen for noises when pulling away and check that the electric parking brake releases cleanly.
