Is a 4MATIC Mercedes worth it in Vila Real?

For anyone who often drives up to Montalegre, Boticas or the Alvão hills in winter, all-wheel drive adds a safety margin on snow and ice. Tyres still matter as much as traction, and winter tyres make a real difference.

Is it worth going to Porto to buy a Mercedes if I live in Vila Real?

Often yes, because the A4 puts Porto about an hour away and the choice is wider. From Chaves or Montalegre the trip grows, so confirm the car by phone before setting off.

What should I check on a used Mercedes from Trás-os-Montes?

Mountain roads wear brakes, clutches and suspension, so test them on a descent and through bends. Where roads are salted in winter, check the underside for corrosion too.
