What is the difference between the Mercedes E-Class E 300 e and E 300 de?

The E 300 e pairs a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, while the E 300 de uses the OM654 diesel. Once the battery is empty, the 300 de uses less fuel on long trips.

How do I check the battery on a hybrid Mercedes E-Class?

Ask a Mercedes workshop for a diagnostic that reads the high-voltage battery's state of health. Charge it fully and check that the electric range shown is consistent with the car's age.

Is a plug-in Mercedes E-Class worth it without home charging?

Not really: without regular charging it runs mostly on the engine while carrying the battery's weight. It pays off for drivers who can charge at home or work and make short daily trips.
