C 200 d or C 220 d: which Mercedes C-Class diesel should I choose?

The C 220 d is the most balanced choice, with plenty of torque for motorways and loads. The C 200 d is frugal around town, but early W205s use a less refined 1.6.

What problems does the Mercedes C-Class OM651 diesel have?

The points to check are the injectors, especially on early cars, and the timing chain, which stretches with poor maintenance. The particulate filter suffers on cars used only in town.

Does the Mercedes C-Class diesel use AdBlue?

Yes, more recent C-Class diesels, including the OM654 engines from 2018, use AdBlue to cut NOx emissions. Any system warning on the dashboard should be diagnosed before buying.
