Which automatic gearbox does the Range Rover use?

Since the L405 of 2013 the Range Rover has used the ZF eight-speed automatic, which carried over to the L460. The earlier L322 had five-speed and later six-speed automatics.

Does the Range Rover gearbox need an oil change?

ZF recommends changing the oil in its eight-speed gearbox at regular intervals, even where the maker's service schedule treats it as filled for life. On a high-mileage Range Rover, knowing whether it was done avoids surprises.

Does the automatic Range Rover have low-range gearing?

Most have a two-speed transfer box with a low range for off-road use, but not every version was fitted with one. Check the specification or the advert for the particular Range Rover.
