Question 1

How far does an electric Jeep Avenger go on a charge?

Accepted Answer

Jeep quotes about 400 km on the WLTP cycle from its 54 kWh battery, with more in town and noticeably less at motorway speeds. It charges at up to 100 kW on a fast charger, so a used one's battery health report is worth asking for.

Question 2

Is the Avenger a real four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

Only the 4xe, which adds an electric motor on the rear axle to the e-Hybrid system. The electric, petrol and e-Hybrid versions drive the front wheels, though high ground clearance and drive modes help on dirt tracks.

Question 3

What should I check on a petrol or e-Hybrid Avenger?

Accepted Answer

The 1.2 turbo petrol without hybrid runs its timing belt in oil, so ask for oil changes done on time with the oil Jeep specifies. The e-Hybrid pairs the engine with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox; check it moves off smoothly and shifts without jerks.

Question 4

How is an Avenger taxed in Portugal?

Accepted Answer

The electric Avenger is exempt from IUC and, if imported, from ISV. The petrol, e-Hybrid and 4xe pay IUC according to engine size and CO2 emissions, and ISV on the same basis if brought in from abroad.
