Which Ford Fiesta petrol engine is the most reliable?

The naturally aspirated 1.25 and 1.1 Ti-VCT are the simplest and give little trouble, though they feel slow on the motorway. The 1.0 EcoBoost is quicker and more economical but needs strict servicing with the correct oil.

Does the Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost have timing belt problems?

It can. The belt runs in oil and degrades with the wrong oil or stretched service intervals, shedding debris that blocks the oil pump pickup. Early versions also suffered coolant leaks that could lead to overheating.

Is the Ford Fiesta mild hybrid worth it?

For mostly urban driving, yes. The 1.0 EcoBoost mHEV adds a 48-volt system that helps when pulling away and trims fuel use a little. It has no plug and cannot drive on electricity alone.
