Question 1

Where is the Fiat Tipo made?

Accepted Answer

The current Tipo is built by Tofaş in Bursa, Turkey, where it is also sold as the Fiat Egea. It shares mechanical parts with other Fiat models, which keeps servicing and spares straightforward in Portugal.

Question 2

Which Fiat Tipo body style has the biggest boot?

Accepted Answer

The Station Wagon carries the most, followed closely by the saloon, whose boot is deep but has a narrower opening. The hatchback trades some space for a shorter body that is easier to park.

Question 3

Is the Fiat Tipo Cross four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

No, the Tipo Cross is front-wheel drive. It adds raised suspension, extra body cladding and roof rails to the hatchback for a more rugged look.

Question 4

Should I choose a diesel or a petrol Fiat Tipo?

Accepted Answer

MultiJet diesels suit high annual mileage and long trips, where the particulate filter can regenerate. For mostly urban driving a petrol Tipo avoids that issue, and the IUC on cars registered since July 2007 depends on CO2 emissions as well as engine size.
