Is a diesel Fiat 500 worth it for town driving?

For town-only use a diesel Fiat 500 rarely pays off: short trips clog the particulate filter and the engine is slow to warm up. It shines for drivers who do lots of motorway miles.

Why are there so few diesel Fiat 500s for sale?

The diesel Fiat 500 was always a minority choice and the 1.3 MultiJet left the range several years ago. The ones left are therefore cars with some age.
