Which is the most reliable petrol engine in the Audi A3?

The belt-driven 1.4 TFSI fitted to the A3 8V from 2012, and the 1.5 TFSI that replaced it, have a good reputation. The chain-driven 1.2 and 1.4 TFSI of the A3 8P need more care with the timing chain.

Does the Audi A3 1.8 TFSI burn oil?

The 1.8 TFSI in the A3 8P, built until around 2012, is known for burning oil because of its piston rings. Ask whether the engine has been repaired and check the oil level before buying.

Is a used Audi S3 or RS3 worth it?

The S3, with a 2.0 TFSI and quattro drive, combines performance with everyday use; the RS3, with the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder, is rarer and harder on tyres and brakes. On both, confirm the gearbox and quattro servicing.
